The pesticides analysis community faces a continuous battle to protect consumers from harmful residues. When expanding our analytical arsenal for these purposes, high resolution, selectivity and speed are key to remain one step ahead of ever-lower regulated levels. New methods and instrumentation are thus essential. Here, we share leading opinions on the current state of the pesticides analysis field, as well as the utility of Orbitrap instruments to overcome the key challenges that researchers face when analyzing pesticide residues and contaminants in food.
