Reason for pursuing analytical science: I started college with the intention of being a biologist and then a biochemist. But exposure to the capabilities and possibilities of instrumentation for chemical analysis grabbed my imagination. It has been a stimulating and rewarding pursuit.
Greatest inspiration: Michael Faraday. He was self-educated and yet a pivotal figure in the development of both physics and chemistry.
Advice to younger self: Be more patient!
